The ultimate goal of the spiritual quest of ours is actually Enlightenment, that’s what we all wish to achieve. What’s the truth about enlightenment?
Enlightenment isn’t a remote state of Consciousness that we have to achieve a little time in the future, but it’s the very heart of the nature of ours.
Our spiritual quest diverts the attention of ours to that imaginary, future state of Consciousness that we believe to be enlightenment. This way, the spiritual quest detaches and diverts us from the true nature of ours, enlightenment. We’re thus unable to actually reach enlightenment through the process of spiritual quest.

Enlightenment is, as we are able to now see, our real, inner nature. But what’s in our real, inner nature? Unfortunately, during our spiritual search, most of us have been alienated from it; so much so, we’ve also forgotten about it. It’s, nonetheless, permanently present in the life of ours, but we simply disregard it. Our attention is always engaged by something, something that we have to deal with, so we very rarely take the trouble of looking into ourselves. Nevertheless, in case we were able to concentrate the attention of ours on ourselves, that brief moment of alert Consciousness will be enough for us to recognize that the alert Consciousness, free of emotions and thoughts is the true inner nature of ours.
